Disney’s release of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea is a brilliant swashbuckling adventure film adapted from the science fiction novel by Jules Verne. Considering this films age the special effects are fantastic, especially the shots of the submarine Nautilus. Even the scenes with the giant rubber squid are very well done.

this is another excellent disney clasic. i did not really like this as much as some of the other disney movies out there, but this still made for some fun viewing, and there was a lot of great under water action too, to keep anyone of any age interested. great buy for all those with younger children too!

Jules Vernes' astonishing and visionary tale gets the full Dysney treatment which is to say plenty of broad slapstick and a general airbrushing of the deeper darker ambiguiites of the story and its moral complexities. James MAson is perfectly cast as the embittered NEmo but he is the only one who really doesn't suffer from the general triteness on display.
