I am a secondary school teacher and plan to use this with junior secondary class in our "Age of Exploration and Discovery unit". I found it to be quite interesting and enjoyable and sufficiently historically accurate and relevant. My min criticism is that is ovely long and may end up using only the first hour or so of the movie. Overall well worth purchasing and watching.
this is a truly great film, the acting is top knotch and so is the directing and every thing else as you can expect with a ridley scott film. the only down side of this dvd is there is very little in the way of extras. im not sure how true it is to the real story of christopher columbus because i dont know allot about it myself, but history lessons aside this is a great film anyhow, which is what it is anyway, a movie, and not a history lesson
