Previous reviewer says "how about they remove it from the site" and then lambast Sony for not releasing item even though the EPG is not fully functional yet. Can't quite understand that? Yes the unit lacks the full EPG but you CAN use the unit in NZ. That's why people have been importing it. Supports HDTV via freeview. No one is sure when the EPG is going to be available in NZ. Sony's track record lately has been poor to say the least in regards to delivering their promises on time. Having said that the unit deserves a 4 out of 5. EPG costing it the last mark.

Since the new 1.21 update these work prefectly in new zealand, you can watch, record and playback HD, EPG works fine. The device is awesome and a very cheap HD freeview/ Recorder.

Very easy to set up. Great system with good search feature. The little box is nice and small and so can be hidden out of the way.

It is a good idea to upgrade the memory in your PS3 as the onboard memory runs out after only a few shows. This is fortunately very easy to do and does not void the warranty. Just be prepared to allow a few extra bucks for this.

This is a good item i would recommend it to people all over the world. Ps3 has the best games out and i have played many of there games and cant wait for the new generation of gaming systems to come out. With the portable controls and the unbelievable graphis i give this an 8 out of 10.

Great add on to the PS3, this works fine in NZ even thou it hasn't been officially released. Only minor issue is that the EPG only shows the present days programmes and not 7 days in advance, other than that it is fantastic.

This is a fantastic alternative for anybody in the market for a PVR such as Tivo. It pretty much turns your PS3 into one, making it unnecessary for you to purchase a separate unit, and allows you to record TV shows. The Aussie version also supports Freeview, meaning you can get all of the digital free-to-air channels. The only caveat is that you'll need a fairly big hard drive. The 250GB that comes with the largest PS3 is barely enough if you record a lot of TV, and you could easily be looking at upgrading (a process that is possible for the technically inclined).

Works really well, definately worth getting if you haven't got freeview already, or if your looking at getting a recording freeview tuner this is way cheaper, although its probably advisable to get a larger hard drive for your ps3 or if you don't have one get the 250gb model as the standard slim ps3 fills up fast recording in hd. Also can be a slight lag when switching between channels. Makes the ps3 remote a necessity as well to make it easier to switch channels (comes with a classy sticker to stick on the official ps3 remote).

This product is great. Combined with my PS3, this is our household's first PVR with a nice high WAF (wife approval factor). The interface is simple and easy to use, and the guide is easy to navigate. Being Freeview branded, it has a slow maximum fastforward rate, but that only means I have to have fast forward on for about 10 seconds, hardly a hassle.

I upgraded my PS3 to a 500GB hard drive before hand, and I don't need to worry about running out of space! The big bonus is that the PlayTV is about $20 cheaper than anywhere else!

I now use it with a sony BD remote - much better than using the the dualshock controller in my opinion.

One thing though - you can only record one channel at a time despite the two tuners. Not a major hassle, but occasionally a pain. This is not a fault, it is like that by design.
