No longer tethered.

We are active party games players - Singstar - Rock Band and guitar Hero.

These microphones work great for all of the above games - My One Gripe is that the battery covers for these seem to be a bit flimsy and probably wont survive too many drops on the floor (as dropping microphones on the floor is not the goal in any of these games, I don't see that there will be a problem here)

For the aspiring rock and pop stars in the house, the new PlayStation wireless mics are a clever addition to the SingStar franchise to bring a new level of performance to your favourite tracks.

Is it worth the upgrade? We had a lot of fun with the cord-free set-up, dancing across the room and channelling our inner performer, but the key part of the fun in SingStar is in song selection and good competition. If you're keen to upgrade and the price doesn't deter you, the wireless microphones will certainly liberate you from being tethered to a console, but hang on to your corded set for back-up.

Finally they bring these out, with singstar being the pioneering game it was constrained by the wires, especially at parties where people could easily trip up and damage the console either by simply yanking out the wire or pulling the whole console to the floor. With the ps3 its far more necessary to avoid this risk and these do the job nicely while still being ps2 compatible. They work well with no problems experienced in the transmitting between the ps3 and the mics.
