Playing as Harry Potter, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger, as well as other favourite characters, gamers will have the opportunity to attend lessons, cast spells, mix potions, fly on broomsticks and complete tasks to earn house points. Throughout the game, players will also have the freedom to explore iconic settings from the wizarding world including Hogwarts castle, Diagon Alley, the Forbidden Forest and the village of Hogsmeade!

Lego Harry Potter years 1-4 is a fun and addictive puzzler. You can play as many of the Harry Potter charcters by yourself or with a freind in co-op. The co-op in this game is a real standout through the whole experience. You'll have to work together to figure out puzzles and explore hogwarts, the forbidden forest and many more areas. Like all lego games you'll have to build things but this game makes it fun by incooperating spells like wingardium leveosia which lifts the blocks into the air and it starts to buld itself before your eyes. Watching this happen never gets old. A key item you will collect throughout the game are studs. Studs are the coin like things you get when opening a chest or when blasting a spell at a flower etc. The studs can buy you new spells, gold bricks and many more important items. The only problem I have with the game is the amount of stud collecting. In the end it gets a little tedious. But putting that aside Lego Harry Potter is great game.
I was a bit worried about buying this, scared that it would just be LEGO star wars, only replacing the lightsabers with swords. But it is a heap of fun. You often spend a lot of time waving round the wand casting spells to collect everything. There is also the option to build your own hogwarts castle. Which I find myself spending hours at a time playing. Definitely worth the money :D
