Have you ever been categorised unfairly - put into a box by people that never took the time to get to know you? Ever been forced to conform to a stereotype you never chose? Ever been judged purely for the hunch on your back? If you can answer 'yes' to any of those questions, Igor: The Game might be the title for you.
Spinning out of the film (you know, the one called 'Igor'), the story follows the exploits of an evil scientist's assistant who aspires to be more than just an ugly bloke who splutters the words 'Yes master' from time to time. In his bid to show the world his inner genius, he creates Eva, who's destined to be an evil monster. Except... she comes out rather lovely, and Igor falls in love with her. When she disappears with Igor's master, the jealous Dr. Schadenfreude, however, he must battle his way back into her heart.
To do this, he'll have to do what he does best - make monsters. The game is played by earning gold with which to buy recipes for body parts, then using them to put together the ideal beast for doing battle. As you might expect, different monster parts mean different abilities.
Combat resembles that seen in the likes of Puzzle Fighter. Players have to clear falling blocks in the mode of Tetris, and clearing enough will give you the energy necessary to pull off a move.
Extending the experience is single or multi cart play, meaning you can test out your mad monster skillz against your mates.

If you're looking for a multi-player game with familiar characters, multiple levels, and kid friendly play, you can do better than this one. In short, it plays like many of the Nicktoon Games with characters matched to a skill/weapon gathering and moving to new levels. In this case, you gather gears and white roses as Igor and his 3 friends travel throughout castle scenes. The graphics aren't as clean as the Nick games like "Volcano Island" or "Globs of Doom." It almost appears chunky at times and feels like a cheap knockoff. There are also little guys/children following you around singing "la la la" to a tune over and OVER again. It's enough to make you want to hurt them after a bit! :-) There's not much to it, and we prefer other games. I just don't understand why they can't come up with a good movie game!! If your family loves Igor, it might be a good choice for you. But other than that, it's average at best.
