You'd think that turning 16 would be a good excuse for a right good knees-up, wouldn't you? Well, you'd be right. But life doesn't always go the way you want it to, does it? It certainly doesn't for the hero of Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Echoes of Time.
Returning home from the monster-infested forest and completing his coming of age trials, our 16 year-old protagonist is suitably unimpressed to find that one of the local girls, Eryll, is suffering from Crystal Sickness. He does what any good-hearted sort would do ? he leaves the village to search for a cure. Unfortunately, things get worse when he reaches the outside world and discovers there no longer are any crystals ? they're long consigned to the past...
This RPG features an impressive 300 different items and costume combinations so that players can make the Echoes of Time experience one all of their own.
Like other titles in the Crystal Chronicles series, Echoes of Time has been designed specifically with the new player in mind, making it accessible to gamers of all experience levels.
What's most noteworthy about the game, however, is its cross-platform multi-player. The title will enable up to four users to play online, regardless of whether they're using a DS or Wii.
If that's not an excuse to jump into the world of Final Fantasy, we don't know what is!

The graphics is stunningly detailed and designed. It was afraid that the return to the style similar to FF 9, which is not that successful, would hinder the game a bit, but it turns out it works really well with the environment and the world of Crystal Chronicles. A lot of details have been attended to landscape, water effects and light effects - you can see the defracted image of your character from the crystal cage when the miru water is filled to a certain level.
Storywise, it is unfolded during different encounters on the road and during the initial description of the areas your first visited. So the more encounter you made, the more you would know about the story.
In all, Crystal Chronicles is a very promising return of the franchise to the Nintendo platform and surely it will provide you a whole new experience in the Final Fantasy series.
