Cars 2: The Video Game draws on the hit movie from Disney/Pixar to let players race into and around the Cars universe in the roles of 20 Cars stars including Mater, Lightning McQueen and the newly introduced Finn McMissile and Holley Shiftwell .
The game extends the movie?s storyline and sees the gamers training up in the international training center -CHROME (Command Headquarters for Recon Operations and Motorized Espionage) in order to become world-class spies.
Gamers can choose to take part in and complete exciting and dangerous missions and compete to become the fastest racing car on the planet. Or they can make use of their spy skills in combat racing and battle arenas. These environments also let gamers carry out wild manoeuvres such as backwards driving, air tricks, sidestepping to avoid obstacles, two wheel driving.
Players can also connect to the World of Cars Online: a free-to-play browser-based game world based on the Cars universe. Unlocking rewards in the video game will enable gamers to unlock new items in this online environment.
Game-play can be enjoyed in both single and multiplayer modes for up to four players.

What really makes this game worth the buy, is the challenge, both from computer and human opponents. Mario Kart seems to be pretty blatant in giving these power ups that the lead player cannot avoid, which is unfair, or seems to slow computer karts down on purpose to give the person that is behind a chance to catch up. In Cars 2, there is hardly any of that, sure, there's the blow-up-the-lead car weapon, but the lead car can still avoid if they have enough energy to shield themselves against it. It's actually pretty cool that I don't get first in every single race, either due to my lack of skill or just some bad luck. It makes me want to come back for more and try to beat it a 2nd or 3rd time, unlike Mario Kart.
