The author is both a respected psychologist and a self-confessed part-time poker player. Using his expertise in the field of psychology and experience in playing and being involved with other players, the author identifies and explains psychological based mistakes – essentially, the worst enemy at the poker table is yourself! The tools and features discussed include using intuition vs logic, evaluating yourself and the opposition, understanding unconscious and emotional factors, adjusting to change, and handling stress. This book is somewhat of a ‘volume 1’ to the author’s future work of ‘Your Best Poker Friend’ – each book is a standalone work discussing a different side to poker psychology, but references are made between the books. I recommend that you get both books!
