A comprehensive collation of information on the world of Shannara and its character, this updated edition adds in all of the content from the more recent books that Terry Brooks has written. It is an interesting read and a good reminder for those of us who have forgotten facets of the storyline and universe given the length of time some of the books have been out for, and this edition features around 100 extra pages. My only complaint would be that instead of integrating the new material into the relevant sections of the original publication they have been added as additional chapters on the end (though a little was integrated, such as the family tree).

For those that are a fan of the Shannara universe this is a well worth purchase. If you already have the original edition, the additional information is nice to have, but the layout could have been better.
