A fantastic book! This would be especially useful to writers who set their stories in times past, although it is entertaining to read even just at leisure. It is great to be able to realize where certain words come from, and how those from so far before us have their own odd sayings and ways of making reference. There are even a few amusing words I've picked up which have won their way into my vocubulary for good, much to the confusion of strangers around me!
I would definitely recommend this book to anyone whose interests in language have brought them as far as viewing this page.
