The last two books Liz Carlyle has written have been a bit shaky as far as I have been concerned so I have turned to her earlier efforts. This book is great-I really loved it. I have to say that no-one does angst-ridden rake made good quite as well as Carlyle except maybe Lisa Kleypas.

Anyway, in this book, David, Lord Delacourt is the rake concerned. Whilst he wont admit it, he has been in love with Cecilia Lorimer for the last 6 years but unfortunately a number of misunderstandings and events have more or less made them hate each other. Nevertheless, David is forced into Cecilia's company which makes them both re-evaluate their relationship with surprising results for them both. Unfortunately, criminal forces put them both at risk of losing their lives. I would like to give this 4 and a half stars - highly recommended.
