Wolfsbane is the sequel to Masques, and picks up shortly after that story left off. With the ae'Magi dead, life should be simpler for Wolf and Aralorn. But when Aralorn discovers that her father has been ensorcelled by dark magic, of the type wielded by the ae'Magi, they discover that their problems are far from over. Especially as magic this dark, created with the taking of a life, can only be reversed by more of the same.
I really enjoyed seeing the progression of the relationship between Wolf and Aralorn in this book. My only criticism was that the continual theorising about who was responsible for the dark magic meant that established fact and supposition became quite blurred and confused, and it seemed as though some of the dialogue was stretched out or rehashed unnecessarily. An enjoyable fulfilling story though.
