This is a collection of four inter-linked stories about an unusual Pack of werewolves that includes a vegetarian, and a bunny-raiser. My favourite tales were the first two, ‘An American Werewolf in Hoboken’ and ‘What’s New Pussycat?’ although ‘Moon Over Manhasset’ has a great hero in the werelion Xavier. There is so much humour in these stories, especially the first where alpha wolf Max gets captured by the pound, and discovers his lifemate when she arrives to adopt him just before he’s Dead Dog Walking. The second story, where Derrick discovers that his lifemate is a shapeshifting cat, is also hilarious. In the third story, love ‘em and leave ’em Julia falls for a werelion who is also a speciesist, believing that different were-species shouldn’t intermarry. The fourth is a little boring and not particularly believable . . . which is saying something when you think what the book is about! A warning though. If you don’t like lots of somewhat graphic [yet still romantic] sex, don’t read this book.
