This adventurous story is about a young boy who used to live with his parents, until they died. His grandma became his caretaker. She knew a lot about the witches. The young boy then moved to a famous hotel in America. The first time he looks at his grandmas old fingers he notices that one is chopped he asks what happend? She said "somthing swooped down off a tree and took it"! This story has heaps of thrills and exciting chills making you want to read more and more even when the book is finished! I hope lots of people LOVE this review as the story is the BEST ever!
I loved this book. One of my fave books. I loved it as an 11 year old and I still love it in my mid-thirties. Roald Dahl has that special amazing sense of humour that no children's writer as of yet can touch upon - even JK Rowling. I have relished his books from a young age and was sad when he died. Ralph is so cute as a mouse and I cannot believe the witches. I laughed my head off and also enjoyed the plot... It was actually pretty scary when Ralph got caught by all those witches in the building.
This book was very enjoyable. Its about a young boy who is being raised by his grandmother, discovering the reality of witches around him. He and his grandmother come up with a plot to be able to get revenge on the witches after they cast a spell on him. I found this book hilarious, and amusing, and most younger readers would enjoy it too im sure.
