I find these books very interesting in how they tend to pidgeon hole Auckland in such a way that people looking to move here get a very skewed view. Where to live in Auckland is very much up to the individual and this book is very biased to the usual areas which are mostly unattainable to average buyers in today's market. Notable for its ommissions more than anything else. I recommend that people visit the web and real estate sites before investing in a book such as this.

These are great books that come out each year. We have read two copies as we are considering a move back to Auckland at some point so want to stay in touch with the market. Lists each suburb, average prices for each house type (based on no. of bedrooms), prices for rentals, nearest schools etc. Basically all you need to know about each place in Auckland. Has info on schools, shops, transport, etc.

Has up to date graphs on average house prices and rental rates for the different suburbs around Auckland. Also provides an honest look at the culture and type of people you'll find in the neighbourhood so you can best choose where you'll fit in.
