The photos were the only redeeming point of this book for me. The letters were full of details but I guess I just prefer the read history in a story format. Some readers will enjoy this book but it is not for everyone. I would recommend reading the books by other authors about Laura's daughter, mother, grandmother and great grand mother if you prefer history in story format. We have particularly enjoyed the stories of Laura's daughter - Rose Wilder Lane by Roger Lea MacBride.
