I love this book and think its one of the best craft books that I now own. It doesn't spend pages and pages telling you how to sew but it covers the basics including some very inspiring photos of craft spaces. The patterns range from bags and homewares to ladieswear, kidswear and pj pants for the entire family. I love the patterns and love that I can make clothes for myself from a book.
I received the book in the morning and by the end of the day had already made a blouse and that has never happened before and I'm on to a list of what to make next as its just an inspiring and fabulous sewing book.
The fabrics chosen for projects are wonderful and I just love this book! Buy it!

There's a nice mix of projects in here - women's clothes, bags of various sorts, kid's clothing and so on. I have to say that nothing really stood out as a 'must make now' project, but perhaps they're actually more practical and likely to be made than things from other books that are exciting but not actually very useful. There's nothing you couldn't get a regular pattern for, but of course her wonderful wonderful fabrics make everything look fun and fabulous! I like that the dresses run the range from very simple to fairly tailored (lovely shirt-dress for example). The only disappointing thing for me is that most of them are designed for very slim women, most would not suit anyone with hips or a waist! The instructions are hand-illustrated which can make following them tricky at times, but the projects are fairly simple so it's not too much of a problem.

Fantastic book, ideal for both experienced and beginner sewers.
Patterns easy to follow from beginning to end. The ones I have made have come together with no problems.

The book is very inspiring and the instructions are simple. Be very careful about how much fabric needed as the book suggested about 1/2 Yard and I really needed about 2 yards. The pattern that I was following was for the tote bag. Otherwise the book is very good value!

Full of great ideas & projects. Just what was required, a book for practical the sewer.
Great for the beginner and the more skilled semstress. I was looking for a book with great layout and instructions.I recommend this book to anyone who wants to make their own items with the limited amount of time to spend on good quality sewing techniques.

I bought this book as a beginner sewer and have found lots of things I would love to make inside. So far I have only had time to make 2 items but they were relatively easy to do.
I love the fact that there are lots of tips and definitions of stitches and fabric types.
Definitely a great buy!

Some great projects in this book, have already made the wrap around skirt and have plans for the little girls dresses in summer. Really good instruction. A few mistakes throughout the book, but Heather has the corrections on her website.

I really like looking at this book - it is very nicely done and has quite a few projects I wanted to get into straight away. And yes, I do think they are doable in a weekend. Glad I got this book.

This is one of the best craft book purchased I have made. it is a beautiful book to own but the projects are also really good. There is a lot of variety between simple projects and those that you can build up to as you get better at sewing. They seem to be straight forward clear instructions, she explains each project as to how long it may take you and what sewing level. also included are some lovely sections of recipes and music. I liked reading her personal sewing experiences too. made this a very thoughtful book all round.
