The cool story of volcanoes will intrigue kids and adults alike. Anne Shreiber's narrative gives readers a little of the science, a little of the history, and a lot of the action. National geographic photography fires the imagination on dramatic spreads alive with vivid images of lava, ash, molten rock, weird rocks, and steaming seawater.

Lots of interesting information and great photographs about Volcanoes. I read this to my 6 and 4 year olds, but the text level is probably suited to a Grade 2 child for self reading. My six year old loves the National Geographic reader series as he loves reading interesting books about the real world, by himself. This book is a little hard for him but he'll grow into it.
