Both my children have loved this book. I first read it to my son when he was almost two, and only just taking an interest in the stories in books as well as the pictures. He loved the repetition ("But the spider didn't answer, she was very busy spinning her web") and was soon saying that part along with me. He is now almost six and still enjoys the story occasionally. My daughter was not interested in books at all until about 18 months, and this was the first one that really took her fancy - she loved the familiar animals and listening to me make their sounds. In a few more months I am sure she will also begin to enjoy the story.
