This is a great book for vegans everywhere. I think this is the perfect recipe to take if you are going out flatting, as if you are a vegan, chances are you will be cooking just for yourself. Its great finding meals that are appropriate for one, meaning less waste, and more value for money! Some great staples and some more interesting recipes too. Makes a great gift for a child leaving home for the first time.

The presentation of this book is lovely, and there are many great recipes. However, as a vegan in a small town, I found that a few of the main ingredients were inaccessible to me. It was still great, lots of recipes I will use. But there are some I can't. You could substitute, but some of them are quite important to the recipe. I suppose that is just part and parcel of being vegan in NZ, that we don't have the same range of soy 'dairy' products, temph, smoked tofu, things like that. Overall a good book though. The other thing I missed was pictures. I like to see my food before I make it (as I'm such an awful vegan cook I need a reference to check it is as it is supposed to be!!). A good book overall.
