Stephanie Laurens always writes a brilliant tale but was a bit disappointed in this story. Did not seem to flow as well as some of her other stories. It could be because she has set the background for the rest of the Black Cobra series and as a result you feel left hanging. Still worth reading.
Lots of exciting adventures, danger and intrigue, and plenty of sensual and steamy romance are all here with two new strong-willed characters. Del and Deliah are typically independent, shrewd and full of courage as they avoid one dangerous situation after another in an attempt to stop the Black Cobra. Even the Cynsters and the Bastion Club members all become embroiled to help out their colleagues. It's a thrilling read and I'm eagerly looking forward to The Elusive Bride.
