I am Jenni's Dad living in England. I ordered this book as a Christmas present for Jenni who does live in NZ. I know that the book was celivered promptly and that she is enjoying it as she has with other Terry Pratchett books.
Thank you.

Yet another sentient race is making a claim on joining the civilised races who live in the Big Wahoonie. Lady Margolotta and Lord Vetinari are behind the move. The background to this story is the formation of a Football League, and Terry has the details pretty accurate, as usual, suggesting that truth is stranger than fiction. Another interesting note is Terry's use of current English yob accents for the first time. Another winner from the master satirist.

This is not top notch Terry Pratchett but it still gets 5 stars because a) it is still better than most other writers around, of any genre, and b) it is still awfully good. Football gets the Pratchett treatment here, and though the ending is not too surprising, the reader has a great deal of fun on the journey there. The wizards are brilliant (second only to the City Watch as my favourite grouping) and anyone who loves football will get a kick (ha!) out of the references in this book (especially the brief discussion of the offside rule). Highly recommended.
