GREAT book...from start to finish this book is great for every horse rider and owner...there is so much helpful information in the book you cant go wrong.
i would recommend this book to every its great to get a book like this that shows you step by step how to get a better relationship with your horse and how to read his body what he is saying and how to improve it.
I'm not a horse owner so i find some of the task not explained other for me but i found going on to youtube.com and looking up richard maxwell there are clips that show alot.
overall love in and plan on buying all of richards book and studying them all, i know when i get a horse this is were i will start from...
great book a must buy...

Currently bringing on a youngster, I found this book a great help. Its easy to read, has clear pictures and Richard Maxwell explains everything in an easy to understand manner. As an experienced horse person this book has allowed me to gain more insight into way my horse behaves as he does, and everything i tried worked exactly as Richard described it.
It also helped me with my long lining technique, and has a section on problem solvers which is also really interesting.
With so many different horse books on the market, I was glad i selected this one as I found the WHOLE book very useful.

Anyone who reads the English horse magazines will be familiar with Richard Maxwell. He provides clear instructions about the subject at hand and backs them up with some great photos.
This book covers the all important groundwork moving onto ridden work. There is a good chapter on problems with some case studies. There is a good article about dental health and mental and physical pressure.
Recommended as a book to refer back to, have a quick read or study in more depth.
