Simply hilarious! I loved it! The second installment of the very funny and cool exploits of the new and very reluctant Queen of the Vampires Betsy Taylor will rock your socks off.
Betsy's apartment is termite ridden and her best friends, billionaire heiress Jessica and Dr Mark decide it's time to move house. Jessica proceeds to rent the biggest mansion possible and Betsy decides it's time to find a new job and after a hilarious scene, gets hired by Macy's shoe department.
In the meantime vampires are being killed by unknown assassins and Betsy finds herself being reluctantly dragged into finding the killers.
This is just a hoot of a book. Possibly even funnier than the first totally sidesplitting installment 'Undead and Unwed'.
Again I wish it was much much longer though.

Betsy Taylor is 30-something, unemployed, and desperate for a job to support her habit of buying expensive shoes. She finally lands her dream job, selling shoes in Macy's at the Mall of America. She lives in Apple Valley with her roommates Marc (a gay doctor) and the seriously wealthy Jessica. And... she's been dead for three months and is the Queen of the Vampires. Betsy has superhuman strength, and can't eat any more; she is disgusted by the idea of drinking blood, and falls asleep as soon as the sun comes up.
In addition to trying to keep her job and find a new place to live (her old Apple Valley house has termites), she has to discover who is behind the murder of several good female vampires. Her vampire friends Eric Sinclair (annoyingly handsome and charismatic King of the Vampires), and his good friend Tina, help her discover who is manipulating the gang of enthusiastic teenaged vampire slayers. Betsy confronts the gang after they follow her home and she explains the good vampire/ bad vampire thing, and gets them on her side.
Jessica finds a wonderful mansion on Summit Avenue as her new place to live. Betsy discovers that another of her talents is that she can see and hear ghosts, and discovers a small child ghost, Marie, who haunts her new bedroom. It takes a while for Betsy to notice that she is a ghost; at first she thinks Marie is the child of one of the mansions workers wandering around and bored. Betsy finally is able to reunite Marie with her mother. I was prepared to dislike it however, i really enjoyed it- funny

who would of thought there was worse things then dying at 30, single and now unemployed. except of course for that whole 'queen of the undead thing'?
thats when betsy lands her dream job at macy's selling shoes..but can she hold on to it? especially long enough to pay back her best friend?? and can she resist the new staff discount....

Very, very funny. Everything this young Vampire Queen does is either outrageous or bizarre, but it SEEMS like such a good idea at the time! The characters all seamlessly integrate, and there aren’t any irritating subplots – all the subplots blend perfectly into the foreground as each one is resolved. I do like this series – they just became a bit of a must-read for me. Considering the number of favourable reviews, this is probably a good novel to just sit down too after a long day and veg with.
