About the Author

Jon Kear is Head of History and Theory of Art at the University of Kent. He obtained his doctorate from the Courtauld Institute and is on the editorial board of "Art on Line". He is also on the steering committee of ACUME's Cultural Thematic Network, which is based at the University of Bologna. He is the author of numerous articles and a contributor to various publications, such as The Oxford Companion to Western Art and is the author of Sunless: Time and History in the Work of Chris Marker (1999).
