When British television chef and restaurateur Rick Stein was told he could choose to go anywhere in the world to write a travel article for English newspaper the Daily Mail, he chose Fleurs Place in Moeraki, New Zealand. The restaurant, run by the inimitable Fleur Sullivan, was 'Just one of those places that keeps cropping up in conversations' whenever there was a gathering of 'foodies', he said. Set in the sleepy little fishing village of Moeraki on the Otago coast, Fleurs Place has an unbeatable setting. There's water on three sides, fishing boats bobbing in the harbour, the famous Moeraki boulders across the bay and, to the north, the open sea. Fleur uses only the freshest of local ingredients - indeed, fishing boats land their catches right into her restaurant. This book combines recipes supplied by Fleur herself with photographs of the spectacular scenery of coastal Otago and the Moeraki area. Side-bar text includes information on Fleur, the restaurant, local suppliers and the Moeraki area.

Fleurs Place is a delightful book - I have a copy for myself and also purchased a copy for a friend who says it has pride of place in her kitchen.
The book or rather the authors have written about the essence of who Fleur is and her philosophy on how to live in harmony with your surroundings and above all to use the local food source. I had experienced "Olivers Restaurant"at Clyde and it was interesting to read how she has created the same atmosphere in Moeraki. The book illustrates this really well. It is a treat to pick up and peruse. The photography is excellent.
I am so impressed with your service and with the book I ordered. New Zealand is a beautiful county filled with wonderful people.
Thank you for being there!
Gorgeous book. Great seafood recipes, and stunning photos of the region. Have never actually been to the restaurant, but am definately inspired to go now.
I find it really useful to have the recipes given in the seasonal manner because I have recently began the journey to eating seasonally and locally, but also have a great passion for cooking new and interesting recipes. In that sense this book fills a void in my kitchen.
I personally would like some more vegetarian recipes, but I cannot fault the book for that.
A very good book bringing together recipes and information about the restaurant and the surrouding area. The photographs bring back memories of a fantastic holiday to celebrate my 50th birthday!
