I love Emily Carding's Tarot of the Sidhe so, although I couldn't quite visualise just what this deck would be like, and it couldn't be more different, I was confident enough to buy it. With the exception of her Transparent Oracle, which is obviously based on the same concept, you will find that this deck is unlike any other deck you have ever seen, and that each time you use it your experiences from the cards you select will be unique. The deck comes with a good quality white cloth (pictured in the bottom right of the illustration provided) that you need to lay out and place the cards on to see the images most clearly.
Emily Carding has selected just a very simple symbolic image, something that suggests the essence of the meaning for each card (and her choices here have been brilliant), so that when you lay the cards on top of each other, as transparencies, you have a completely unique picture created each and every time. The accompanying book is equally brilliant and introduces the reader to tarot in general, this deck in particular, provides explanations of each of the cards, and explains how to use this deck most effectively. She provides examples of this so that how to use the deck becomes really clear.
I recommend this deck without reservation. It might be more expensive than many other decks, but once you've used it, you'll fully appreciate its worth, and undoubtedly realise that you really don't need the complexity of symbols that so many decks are laden with. In a word, brilliant!
