Two Many Cooks takes place many years earlier than Champagne for One.
Nero Wolfe actually leaves his cosy home office for Outside, taking a long train journey there. Mystery, repartee, Archie eying the ladies - all there however; plus an interesting monologue regarding Wolfe's (and presumably Stout's) attitude towards race relations.

In the later book unmarried mothers provide the social background. It also highlights the myth that the USA is a classless society. A well plotted mystery however and an enjoyable read.
