Really good book for any print based designer or student. easy to read, and lots of diagrams.
Opens up your mind and helps with revision, very handy resource to keep for reffernce. If interested in type on a more research and accedemic way id recomend robert bringhurtsthe elements of typographic style. it is heavy reading but great.

I found this informative and quite to the point. If you are a student at some point you will have to explain typefaces and what they are used for , you will also need it for your study notes and things . this book is quite useful for that . I found it really good for one of my assignments and have used it to justify logo designs and typeface designs after wards in orals and other assignments. again because I am not a professional I don't want to say you will use it you may not need it . but as a student I have found it quite valuable to my study so far. I have quite a few books on type but they all complement each other and help with the hard stuff , the hard stuff being the justification and the research notes you are required to present with each assignment
