How excited was I to find a sequel to The Bronze Horseman. I could not put this book down, it was just amazing and sad and happy. This book covers more of Alexander's childhood memories and why his parents moved to Russia when he was just a boy. What a hard struggle they had and then to be separated and not knowing whether or not the the other was still alive.

If you love a good romance set in WWII then this is it! The 2nd book to The Bronze Horseman it is such a beautiful and action packed novel that I cannot put it down. I look forward to evenings and my train trips to work to keep reading and find out what happens to Tatiana & Alexander. Paullina Simons is an entertaining writer!

I read this book after having read The Summer Garden first, not realising at the time it was part of a trilogy, and the Bronze Horseman second...it really didn't lose anything by being read out of order...enjoyed each book just as much..an excellent author...an excellent read..a must read for anyone who enjoys an excellent read.

you fall in love with the story of tatiana and alexander all over again... This second novel of the the three part trilogy carries on the love story of tania and shura - and their fight to be together again. I absolutley loved it, and have read it and re read it many times. You must read the Bronze Horseman first, follwed by this, then finish with the Summer Garden.

A book that every fan of The Bronze Horseman was waiting for. Continuing the story of Tatiana and Alexander as they live seperate lives, Tatiana in America believing her beloved Shura dead and Alexander in Russia under the Red Army during the last stages of WW2. A must read for anybody who love The Bronze Horseman

This whole series of sequels about Tatiana and Alexander have been some of the best novels I've ever read. This second sequel is especially good because it retells moments from The Bronzed Horseman and even before that. Tatiana's and Alexander's searches for each other grips the reader and really emotioally touches you. Can't wait to finish the third book, Summer Garden :) Overall excellent reads!!!

I must admit to having read this book before having read the preceding novel, The Bronze Horseman. However, I found that having read this book, it really would have been a waste of time to go back and reread the previous story. This book recaps all the important parts. This book really is an epic. It captures the feeling of war extremely well, whilst also playing on the heartstrings. I also found it satisfying to hear a version of war from the voice of such a complex character, being an american citizen fighting for the Russians. Be aware that this is a long read, but that it has great depth and a brilliant storyline.
