Having heard a lot about Suicide Girls in the media, checking out the website and buying the first tour DVD, I have to admit to having become a bit of a fan of these funky pierced, tattooed and uber-confident alt girls.
So when I picked up the book to have a flick through I wasn't disappointed.
Beauty is truly in the eye of the beholder. Girls of all shapes and sizes, girls with body rings, girls with tattoos, girls with free minds. Goth and punk, leather and lace, these women are the successors of Bettie Page. With thousands of girls across the globe now SG girls, this book only showcases a few of them, but it's a great introduction to the cultural phenomenon which has swept the net, and the world.
This is such an amazing, artistic book. For anyone who is seeking a deeper level of beauty than the plastic blonde bombshell look we are constantly exposed to, this book is awesome. The pictures are well done, and the girls rock.
It makes a great conversation piece and coffee table book, and I'd recommend it to anyone - guys and girls - who like their pinup with an air of alt.
