Lovers of the Gruffalo will not be disappointed with The Smartest Giant which sees the amazing Donaldson/Scheiffler combo in action again. They tell the story of the slightly dim giant who geats a great set of new clothes and then promptly gives each piece of clothing away to animals who seem more needy than him. A sweet bedtime story that will delight younger and older readers alike.
My children thoroughly enjoyed this story. I also took the book to school and students in grades kindergarten to year 6 also enjoyed the story. Lots of room for discussion from the rhyming text and pictures. A great story for discussing needs and wants and caring for others. Teaches about things that are truly important and the act of giving
this book gets 5 stars from me its a wonderful interesting
book that i really enjoy reading to the kids and i love the pictures they are so interesting to look at and the kids love looking at them , we spend ages looking at the pictures and discussing the fascinating story
We enjoyed this book, but the rhyming is not as good as in Room on the Broom or The Gruffalo, but a really enjoyable read with an subtle underlying ethical message about appearance and giving.
