Special interest in clinical conditions which cross traditional boundaries especially paediatrics, paediatric neurology and child psychiatry. Leader of clinical and research teams with national and international reputations. Developed clinical services for children and methods of investigation in clinical neurophysiology now used worldwide. Head of clinical service for children and adolescents with sleep disorders throughout the UK. Extensive publications in medical scientific journals (e.g. Archives of Disease in Children, Developmental Medicine and Child Neurology, Journal of Child Psychology and Psychiatry). Co-editor of several books. Recipient of international awards. Highly successful research programme in field of children� sleep disorders including their diagnosis and treatment and their adverse effects. Foremost research unit in this field in the UK and few comparable units internationally.
