She is a first-generation Italian-Australian with both her parents born in Sicily. Marisa has always been passionate about fresh, local ingredients and she has an active association with market stall-holders and food producers. Before becoming a food writer, Marisa taught English and Italian in schools. Sicilian Seafood Cookbook is her first book.
