This book is actually two short stories that were written as a filler for a Christmas addition for a popular British newspaper.
Essentially it the same old Sharpe and cast of characters, this time though we find Sharpe being influenced by the "Christmas spirit" as though he is seeking redemption.
Whilst Sharpe has his own morale compass which to some may seem slightly askew, he has never seemed to me a man who has regrets over the things he has done which makes these stories something of anathema to me.
Essentially these books add nothing of any value to the character of Sharpe and could be considered on par with the old cheap western novels that have been popular for several years.
Basically more of the same but with Christmas thrown in
