About the Author

David McColl was born in Paisley, Scotland and emigrated to Canada with his family at the age of fifteen. He lived in Newfoundland for three years before relocating to Nova Scotia. He joined the Canadian Army Reserve in 2002, and transferred to the Regular Force in 2008 with the Royal Canadian Navy, and was posted to Canadian Forces Base Esquimalt in 2010. He has served on board HMCS ALGONQUIN, HMCS REGINA, and HMCS CALGARY, and is presently posted to National Defence Headquarters in Ottawa, Ontario.
