I did not find the plot thin. The medical and scientific knowledge used is amazing. Feehans books are not meant to be a deep read but something you read when you're relaxing. They are for the fun and romantic at heart and provide a way to escape our own world where the most romantic things you're other half does is make you a cup of tea. These books are just meant to be fun and people reading them and expecting an intricate and complex plot are in the wrong mindset before they begin. If you want to sit, have a coffee, chocolate and be prepared for a good mushy romantic read, then this is for you.
Hhhmmm... what to say about Shadow Game? How about: new, different, exciting, hot, funny and did I mention different? This book could easily be considered to a dawning of a new genre of romance, just like this author's Dark series could be considered a new genre. It's about a secret government experiment on some of the best soldiers they have which enhances their mental powers with spectacular powers, all of which are different for each individual. Add to that the idea that this experiment had already been run in the past by that same scientist, this time on little girls he had adopted from third world countries. From this introduction a romance will evolve between the leader of these extradonary men and the "daughter" of the scientist who turns out to be the onl;y one of the little girls that he kept.
It is a fun, rolicing ride which will make you laugh out loud with some of it's dialogue and will have you reaching for your partner after those hot love sceens. A must have and a definite keeper.
This is a great book to read if you have previously read anything by christine Feehan before or if this is a first time of hers. This is starts off by introducing us to two key characters Lily Whitney and Captain Ryland Miller who will then feature within all other books in the Ghost walker series. In the shadow game starts off with Captain Ryland in a science lab behind a glass wall who then meets Lily Whitney who is the scientist's daughter of the man who has been working with Captain Ryland these two instantly have chemistry as they both have a special ability that they share.
I found this book to very reviting and a great read. Would recommend this book to anyone that likes to read fantasy romance.
This is the first time I have read any of Christine Feehan's books and I found it very enjoyable. I couldn't put it down and she does go into great detail with her writing which I personally find great as I can almost feel like I am part of the story with all the knowledge. I am tending to read this whole series and am already on book two.
As you can see from the other reviews it is about a professor and his "daughter" with twists here and there.
It is an incredible and different book! I never expected something so science orientated to be so good, I wish I had given it a chance earlier. I don't think the plot is thin, like in the other reviews, but I think that perhaps it should have had a bit more in it to make it better. The tension between Lilly and Ryland is so awesome; it makes any female happy to read. The only bad thing is that I feel there were far too many people in Rylands team and the conversation in the book got a bit difficult.
The first book in a new series Shadow Game is a more complicatd read than Feehans Dark series.
Alot more 'thinking' involved, it reloves around a group of military men recruited to undergo an experiment to enhance their psychic abilities. But things start to going wrong, and when one of the men dies, Ryland suspects it was murder, and knows that it wont be long before all of them are dead. With the help of Lily, the daughter of the man responsible for the experiment and a psychic herself, Ryland must find out who is trying to kill them.
A little hard to keep track of whos who, but the chemistry between Ryland and Lily is hot. Agree with the other review, the plot is a bit thin, but if you lean toward the more psychic or military/suspence minded books, this is the one for you. I still enjoyed it, and have read the books following it. But I prefer her Dark Series.
I agree with the other review about it being different. The sex scenes are hot but I have to confess I did page skipping towards the end just to finish. I found the plot to be a little thin. No maybe not thin but more lacked the build up that keeps you on the edge of you seat.
While this is considerably better than that Dark rubbish, a large part of it is still eye-rolling cornball with not a lot happening except for the two main characters having the telepathic horn for each other and shagging a lot.
A professor disappears, and his daughter is brought into the picture of his psionic research project. He had been making psychic soldiers, basically. Telepaths, telekinetics, dreamtalkers.
It is discovered that she was also part of this project as they had been scouring the globe for talent.
