Hi
I read a lot and I had this book highly recommended to me by a number of christians. I found it difficult to decide if it was fiction or non fiction. It certainly had a lot of truths in it and was biblically sound.
It covers a story about a man who loses his daughter to a sexual predator. He can't cope with the loss and blames himself.
A message arrives in his letterbox one day from Papa (God) who invites him to a shack for the weekend. The story unfolds from there into an interesting account of how God interacts as the the Father (papa), the Son (Jesus) and the Holy Spirit. The man spends the weekend with God (in the trinity) at The Shack and God opens up his mind to see things from God's perspective.
The story is uplifting, forfilling and informative on Christian ideaologies. The end is has a nice twist to it and I really enjoyed it.

Did not like this at all - smacks of new ages nonsense & couldnt find a thing that resembled the Word in it. Put mine in the bin so that no-one else would be misled. I'd recommend steering clear of it especially those new to the Lord.

A fiction novel told a story about a father whose daughter get kidnapped and found that his relationship to God recovered after few encounters with God himself.
It's a novel that bring the message that God has control in everything including grief, misery, and other things and He always be able to bring this to great joy in the end. Really encouraging books to read especially if you're a doubter and thinking that God is not that nice at all.

This book may challenge your belief in what God is and his (her) personification is certainly a challenge to the main character. Always interested in spiritual and personal growth I thought the book was an emotional account of the pressures of grief, the embodiment of faith and the realisation of loves eternal gifts. After all the Bible is not literal and a persons perspective and experiences are worth respect and consideration.

To all you folks who are looking for a great read this weekend try "The Shack". You will find it inspirational fiction and even revelational at times. I loved it so much I purchased copies for all my adult children and have HIGHLY recommended it to almost everyone I speak to. It is all about relationships, being a loving person and not being judgemental in any shape or form. Anne L

Talk about blowing mindsets. This has book has revolutionised my thinking and helped me to see God as a personal friend who knows and loves me intimately. All I can say to those who stop at the part in the book when God is portrayed as a female...is...keep reading! If you can replace the mental picture in your head, as I did then you can absorb the phenomenal truths that illuminate things that perhaps were previously obscured. It's grace at it's core! LOVED the book. Gave it away and want to buy 10 more copies to do so!

Wow - this book is amazing - so different from the god you here about in churches. Fascinating and loads of twists. Just be careful reading it in public places random strangers tend to walk up and start talking about it with you.
