This was the text used for my Poetry class. Even though it is paperback, the durability of the book (including binding, cover, page quality) is more than satisfactory and made to last. My main beef with the book is the content. Occasionally, the editor-John Leonard-would (in my opinion) have some pretty wonky ideas on what to include and what to exclude. Famous poets Shelley, Drayton and Coleridge, for example, have few poems included in the anthology (5, 2!!!, 4 respectively). Some ANONYMOUS poems, however, get page after page. So perhaps a bit of imbalance in the poetry selection. On the other hand, Leonard does help provide brief guides on poetry in his introduction as well as essays on "comparisons (in the poem) and rhythm, form and metre (which helped in my last-minute exam revisions).
