Not a great refernce for Australian readers. Climatic zones are in USA regions and there is allot of conversions needed to get real use of the information provided.

Widely recommended by those in the know, and referred to as their primary text on this subject - I bought this book with high expectations. It is highly americanised, with only black and white illustrations, however it is comprehesive and contains useful information on growing/saving vegetable seeds. If you're serious abour seed saving / plant diversity / self sufficiency, and ever wanted to produce seeds for sale/swap, it appears to be a useful reference text. It is not all that encouraging for a beginner / someone thinking about growing/saving plant seeds for the first time, for reuse in their own garden (a more basic text, perhaps covering common flowers also, is what I'm still trying to find...).
