Cassie posseses a secret, one that she does not know. When Cassie moves with her mother to her grandmother;s house in New Salem, she meets the Circle. she quickly becomes entrapped in the Circle. She also remeets Adam, a guy that she cannot stop thinking about. Howvere; he is taken. There is something mysterious happening. What is Cassie's secret and what is amiss about this idyllic place.

Cassie moves to New Salem with her mother, under the impression that they are going to look after her sick grandmother. When she starts at her new school, she gets bullied by Faye and her friends, and also hears secret whisperings about a club. But when Cassie gets initiated into the club after a tragic incident, she finds that the being in the club means more than what she ever expected. This book is a captivating read, especially for those who enjoy books involving magic.

Cassie discovers a secret club in her new school, one she wants to be a part of. Her first days of school are rocky when she falls victim to some taunts from the bullies of the in crowd. Rescued by the leader of the secret club Cassie learns what this club is all about. A captivating read, I really enjoyed the Secret Circle collection.

For all you fans of magic, myths/legends, struggle of power, friendship (for lack of better word) and love, this has got it all. And more.
L.J. Smith weaves all of the above in her books. With engaging characters and detailed writing, it's hard not to keep reading and relating to the characters.
Awesome series. She has a very distinctive 'personality' to all her books that if you like one of them, you will most definitely like them all.
