this is a fascinating and seductive book. it is written in a very folksy way despite the science it relies on driving the narrative. however, it is only one view on the nature of the baby brain and should be balanced with other view points - once you've read it find a book that challenges the 'baby as scientist' viewpoint. This is a very persuasive book thanks to the rhetorical devices it relies on but it does carry some interesting scientific research in between the ideological cyclone that blows through it.
