This was an exciting arrival. Photographs show all techniques and finished cakes clearly. Step-by-step instructions demystify replicating the techniques - which is very important for learn-at-home cake makers! I bought this bought figuring I would be paying a lot more for a hands cake decorating classes and am more than pleased with the techniques covered. This is a modern approach to cake decorating and with lovely colour combinations and decorations like handmade butterflies, it is simply a delight.

Stunning and inspiring. I love this book! Absolutely gorgeous pictures of beautiful treats: biscuits, small cakes and amazing cake creations. A little prior knowledge would be helpful.

This book is a must-have in any decorator's collection - the only thing that I discovered was that the recipes, although they were slightly different in quantities, were the same as the previous book Pretty Party Cakes. Still, gotta have both!

Beautiful photos, a dreamy book.
One of the things that set this book out from the numerous how to cake books I've read is that the basics are toward the rear of the book. You open the book and you're virtually straight into the 'projects'. Each project is laid out clearly, detailing which cake you need; suggestions as to which occassion particular cakes or cookies would be most suitable for, as well as the expected shelf life of cakes (not really sure how to translate this into Australian climates though, I believe the book is british).
You are shown how to make sugar roses petal by petal, they look realistic that way. I believe a confident beginner could handle this book, with a bit of patience and practise who knows what your imagination can produce.
