I was disappointed by this book, mainly because I love these authors and I didn't think any of them lived up to their potential. Doesn't mean it's a bad book, though, because hey, Cherry Adair and Lora Leigh? You know there will be something special. Maybe it's because of the novella format, but Adair's portrayal of a kidnapped doctor and her counterterrorist resucer, who happens to have loved her for ages, really isn't realistic. I mean, he breaks her out through the window and what do they immediately do? Run for the safety of the jungle? Nope, they make out. Now, come on. Leigh's novella is one of her SEAL stories, starts off well even though the heroine isn't a particulary sympathetic character, but wait until you get to Drack and her ruminations. You'll know what I mean when you get there. The Cindy Gerard story about cop Seth and District Attorney Elena works really well until the annoying conclusion. Having said all this, the three authors are still on a higher level than many novella writers, and if you enjoy fast, sensual stories you should like 'Rescue Me'.
