I have found this dictionary to be one of the best crossword books around for either straight or cryptic crosswords with its extensive word coverage for all subjects and that it is not an expensive product to buy.Definitely a must on your book shelf.

As this was a replacement copy for my wife's original book (which had deteriorated into 3 pieces over a decades usage) I already knew it was a great book for any crossword lover

Great book. It's the fourth copy bought because the others have been used so much, they fell apart. And that would be the only downside, they do indeed, fall apart!

I gave this as a gift to my mother who is a religious crossword doer. she said it was very helpful and has only found one work that was not in the A-Z Crossword Dictionary. as the reviewer below said it is useful as a thesauraus too.
a helpful book for puzzle lovers.

This is a good, standard, reliable crossword dictonary. I have a newer version so it does get updated. There have been some words that I haven't been able to find, but this is not a normal dictionary after all. Very useful as a thesaurus too. Great for assistance with the large crosswords you often find in the womens magazines or the newspapers.
