Fantastic book, written in very artistic and poetic language - simply beautiful! His descriptions of each of the chosen facets of life are powerful, moving and stunningly accurate. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone; it is a beautiful narration on many aspects of life.

I have owned this book for more than 30 years and I count it as the most valuable piece of writing that I've ever read. Gibran's wisdom comes encapsulated in lyrical phrases that are exquisite and memorable. Having the book on hand is like having access to a very wise person who speaks directly to your heart about love, children, giving, eating & drinking, work, joy & sorrow, houses, clothes, buying & selling, crime & punishment, laws, freedom, reason & passion, pain, self-knowledge, teaching, friendship, talking, time, good & evil, prayer, pleasure, beauty, religion, and death. I've gifted more copies of this book than I can remember! It's a classic and remains as relevant today as it would have been when it was first published in 1923.

I read the passage from The Prophet on love, following a crappy relationship muckup, and there was a line that really spoke to me. I was compelled to go out and buy the whole thing and I wasn't disappointed. The poetry and writing style of this guy is amazing, really descriptive in a very unique way. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who wants to read something insightful and artistic.

A very nice book, very meaningful, I like the description used, The Prophet is one of those books you don't want to put down, until you've read the whole thing. Highly reccomended to any body that wants to read something very meaningful. Very unique writing style.
