Alain Surget is a professor of history as well as a prolific novelist. He started writing plays and poetry at the early age of 14, then went on to write over 130 novels and other books. Many of these are set in Ancient Egypt, or have animal conservation as their theme. Alain is married with three children and lives in Gap, France. Despite writing about the sea in the Jolly Roger series of novels, he rarely sets foot in it, preferring life in the mountains.
