About the Author
David Mack is the author of numerous Star Trek novels, including the USA Today best-seller A Time to Heal and its companion volume, A Time to Kill. I liked the Vanguard series, as it seems to have an aggression that other Star Trek books don't have, and this is what I like reading. There is plenty of action to keep you on the edge of your seat, and the characters are quite funny and humorous. I think the authors have written clever plots, different to other series. I like the idea of a massive Starbase near the border. What I also enjoy about this series is that it focuses on the original Star Trek: Kirk's time.
