The writer has quite an arrogant style and is very focused on designer clothing. Not that helpful if you usually buy "ready-wear" clothes. Introduces six body types and detailed instructions for each meaning that you'll propably only read one of these and skip 50 pages as useless.

I agree with the first reviewer that Ms Farr's writing style is a bit condescending at times, but her advice is excellent. Farr uses discussion of high-end designers to inform your eye and to learn what makes quality clothing, not to suggest buying them. This is invaluable advice as it's this that enables you to shop well from the ready to wear ranges. Her discussion and advice on body types is far more useful than Trinny and Susannah's.

Farr advocates quality and line above all. She is a sane guide when you've read too many fashion magazines and you think you need to go out and buy that rhinestone-studded, leopard-print jumpsuit...

This slim red volume wouldn’t quite fit into your pocket, but it is a wardrobe staple. It provides advice that doesn’t date: how to choose the classic building blocks for an amazing wardrobe. Once you have the skeleton, then you can just add one trend based item to a look to keep current.

The Pocket Stylist is not so much of a fun read as, say, Fashion Babylon, but it’s recommended to those who are really starting from scratch in improving their wardrobe. For the more fashion savvy, the advice is probably mostly what you’ve already worked out for yourselves.

this is greatb ook and is full of usefull information especially if you are a fan of fashion. i love style and shopping and this book really helped me in finding the right clothes to suit my body shape and how to buy things that arent going to break the bank to terribly and that are also going to last a while. i definatley reccomend this book to you
